Brush, Brush, Brush....

Open Wide!!!! We have been fascinated with our teeth and learning all about the care of these pearly beauties! We can tell you all about dental instruments, cavities, plack, bacteria, brushing, flossing, foods that are good or bad for your teeth, baby teeth and permanent teeth! Completing dental surveys in the morning has been quite informational. Inquiring minds want to know...Did you brush your teeth this morning?
Have you ever had a tooth x-ray? (Harry's idea)  Have you ever lost a tooth? Do you have a loose tooth? We chart our ever changing results each morning.

Mr. Mouth helped us know how to brush our teeth. Look at these chompers!

We practiced brushing our own teeth.

Jordan's mom, a dental hygenist, visited our class to talk about taking care of our teeth.
She brought each of us an electric tooth brush and toothpaste.
Thank you, Jordan, for sharing your mom!!

What sweet smiles we have!!

Fishy Fun!

Our last Sea Life activities allowed us to use our creative juices, using paints, sand, tissue paper, goldfish crackers, and salt dough, which we made in class! We completed a Venn Diagram comparing seahorses with farm horses. Listing differences was the easy part. We came up with a few things that were the same...not quite so easy! Our seahorses found homes in three dimensional fish bowls, complete with seaweed, and "goldfish".  We learned all about starfish, and anxiously waited for our creations to dry so that we could paint them. Adding a bit of glitter helped them sparkle in our hallway display.

We mixed the salt dough for our starfish...

Next, we kneaded the dough until it was soft.

Rolling the dough was not as easy as it looked....

Almost completed......

Our finished product, ready to dry and paint!

Our three dimensional fish bowls were a great home for the seahorses!

If you didn't get a chance to see our fabulous hall display, here it is!
